About Me

I am an explorer and observer by temperament with a love of science and nature always.  An outdoors child, and later a high school physics geek, I first heard of Taoism when I picked up the classic book, The Tao of Physics, in my teens.  I loved the science but did not yet understand the spirituality.

In my 20s I explored Taiji and had a compelling introduction to Qigong, but it was not then the right time or opportunity for me to pursue serious study. As the adage says:  when the student is ready, the master will appear.  For me, this was Grandmaster Nan Lu, in 2013.  Since then, the study and practice of Wu Ming Qigong has transformed my physical and mental health and led me on a profound spiritual path.

A lifelong student, teacher, and coach, I have degrees in philosophy and Comparative Literature and have enjoyed life roles as a professor, academic writing coach, community builder and stay-at-home parent. Along this wandering path, that love of science and nature has been a through line. Developing a Taoist understanding of Natural Law and connecting it with the body-mind-spirit practice of Qigong has made it the center.

Around 2020, I began laying the foundations to begin this practice. In 2021 I completed training as a Duke certified Integrative Health Coach. In addition to my ongoing study with Master Lu and personal practice of qigong, I became a certified Dragon’s Way Qigong® Instructor and Wu Ming Qigong for Breast Health instructor.

Now I help students and clients explore this wisdom and apply it to their lives.
